Notes From The Suggestion Box
Around the Wedging Table will focus on a few questions left in the Studio’s Suggestion Box and publish the Studio’s responses to those suggestions in each issue. This way the Studio community will know what types of issues are of interest to the Members and how those issues are addressed by Staff or the Board. Below are the first items selected from the Suggestion Box questions and the corresponding response. Please remember that we appreciate signed suggestions as they are easier to address.
Staff comments: We previously reached out to main offenders and asked them to be more diligent. We also asked Instructors to remind Students using it to be more diligent when cleaning it. Finally, we made a sign to remind all users to clean it before wrapping it up.
Estimated completion: Done. Note: We also have replaced the extruder table with a larger one for increased accessibility for the folks who need it.
Staff comments: We had previously been asked to lower them. We will raise them back.

Staff comments: Great idea! We can cut 12 in half, no problem.

Staff comments: Sante will be picking up the parts either 7/29 or 7/31.

Staff comments: Although the studio supplies cookies, in our new Firing Tagging system, every piece glazed by a Student needs to be signed off by your Instructor (during class hours) or a Staff member (during student open hours). The work will be checked with one of the four red check sticks supplied by the Studio located in the glazing area. The signer will ask the signee what glaze they used and double-check that all work is clean on the bottom. At that time, the Student will decide if they still want to use a cookie and then move their work to the glaze rack for firing. Thanks for working with the Staff and Instructors on this!
