NOTE 1: No day-use on the weekend of Oct. 18, 19, due to a workshop.
NOTE 2: No day-use on weekends from Nov. 1, 2019 through Jan. 1, 2020.
If you are interested in a short-term project or cannot come into the studio on a regular basis, you might be interested in our One-Day, or Five-Day Pass package.
Our Five-Day pass package provides a discount: $100 for five passes, usable during the hours listed.
Pricing: One-Day Pass: $25 per day; Five-Day Pass: $100.
What’s included: Access to wheels, work tables and some studio supplies and equipment (e.g., slab roller, bats, ware boards, pot lifters, plastic wrap, rolling pins, a loaner-set of basic pottery tools, etc.).
Instruction: The day use program assumes you basically know what you're doing with clay and are just looking for a great place to do it -- there is no instruction provided aside from studio protocols. We do have classes but they're all 8-week-long sessions.
Clay: We stock about 10 kinds of high-fire clay and it's priced about $12-$16 per 25 lb. bag, with porcelain being more. You're welcome to bring in your own clay, but please clear it with staff first -- we need to make sure it's handled appropriately with respect to its firing temperature, both in terms of the kilns it may go into and cleanup/recycling/disposal.
Firing: There's a $20 minimum for firing and we do low, mid, and high fire. We charge by volume and pricing is at the contract firing rate. All the glazes we stock are high-fire (we have 18) and the usage charge is $10 per cubic foot of work.
Hours: Daytime staff hours but not during a class. It works out as follows:
Sat.: 1:30-4:30pm (none in Nov.-Dec.)
Sun.: 11am-4:30pm (none in Nov.-Dec.)
