Classes Overview

Classes at The Potters' Studio are a great opportunity to hone your craft and learn what it takes to be a successful ceramic artist. The course fee of $290 includes:

  • 8 classes (3 hours each)

  • 4 cubic feet of firing space (that's a lot)

  • 25 pounds of clay

  • A loaner set of tools for your first class (you'll need to bring your own tools after that)

  • A cubby to store your tools and clay

  • Lots of storage racks for your in-process work

Starting May 1, 2019, we’re doing away with class waitlists. Class registration for new students will be first-come/first-serve via the website. Refer to a specific class for the date/time of the next class registration. Starting dates vary from class to class.

Open Studio Hours

  • Mon. 1:30pm - 5:30pm

  • Tue. 1:30pm - 6:30pm

  • Wed. 1:30pm - 5:30pm

  • Thu. 1:30am - 6:30pm

  • Fri. 1:30pm - 6:00pm

  • Sat. 1:30pm - 5:00pm

  • Sun. 11am - 5:00pm

(Students may not do open studio time during a class in which they are not enrolled.)

Students can also use the studio to work outside of class time. Free open studio hours for students are, at the minimum, as listed, and there are usually more hours available as well outside of class and staff hours (students may work in the studio outside of classes and staff hours listed when there is a member present - such as Fri., Sat., and Sun. evenings).

Our classes are very popular and usually full. Three weeks before the start of a class session, the current students in that class are given a chance to re-register. The number of students opting out determines how many spots become available to new students (and first-come/first-serve registration on each class's info page on the dates listed on those pages).
